Leilah’s Creative is a compilation of artworks that align with my artistic goal which is to create “Healthy Art.” Healthy Art is the concept of art pieces that are focused on mental health and positively giving something to the viewers to receive/take from it. These concepts are mainly created as digital animations/digital drawings with meaningful characteristics and concepts. My initial goal was to create only sports art but I believe that with having a broader horizon I will be able to utilize my art to reach larger target audience’s. My final goal through “Healthy Art” is to normalize and engage in conversations about mental health and the art that colors can be for to be individually or in conjunction with words.

  • Inside/Outside perspective: Creations that visually embodies the inside feelings/emotions that mentally are complicated to be processed but somehow are functioning enough to create stress on the brain and other parts of the body.
  • The Misconception: Creations that visually embody the misconceptions of mental health. These misconceptions are often falling under the many stereotypes that people that struggle with mental illnesses are psychotic or that it’s not normal to advocate for yourself and promote mental health
    awareness.
  • Self Advocacy: If you don’t advocate for yourself then its hard to advocate for others, like the saying that “it takes a village to raise a child” it takes a lot more than one person to help someone to succeed in their everyday lives and the many challenges that come with it.
  • The Emotional Wreck (admitting I’m not okay) : The emotional wreck will be a visualization of what happens when you try to be a strong individual and act as if everything is always okay when ultimately it is okay for things to not be okay and it’s okay to ask for help when you find yourself struggling.
